The Kodály Institute is proud to have contacts with music institutions all over the world. Some of these contacts are strengthened with institutional agreements:

Capital University (Columbus, Ohio, USA) - the agreement is based upon several years of mutually beneficial professional co-operation and recognising an opportunity for American students to experience a semester totally immersed in music study as well as international living at the Kodály Institute in Kecskemét. The program is accepted as part of the ANAC group of international programs.

University of Mississippi (Mississippi, USA) - the specific goal of this co-operation is to enhance the educational and professional experiences and cultural understandings of staff and students at the University of Mississippi and the Kodály Institute.

Greek Kodály Music Institution (Athens, Greece) - the co-operation includes exchanges of students and teachers, as well as research work in the library and archives of the Kodály Institute in Kecskemét.

Frederic Chopin Academy of Music (Warsaw, Poland) - the co-operation with the Academy started in the late 1980s. In December 2004, the two institutions signed an agreement in which they expressed their will to continue co-operating in the field of music education and their artistic and scientific exchange.

Karol Szymanowsky Academy of Music (Katowice, Poland) - the Institute regularly accepted visiting groups of students of the Academy, both during the academic year and at the International Kodály Seminar. In December 2004, the two institutions strengthened their co-operation in artistic, didactic and academic fields with a written agreement.

Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso (Chile) - the agreement with the university lasted for several years, and currently there are negotiations to renew it.

Texas Tech University (USA) - the agreement is intended to help facilitate an opportunity for students of Texas Tech University to participate in the different academic programs of the Kodály Institute.

Other forms of co-operation not based on written agreements:

International Kodály Society (Budapest, Hungary) - the beginnings of the co-operation date back to the opening of the Institute in 1975 when the IKS was also founded in Kecskemét. Through the Society the Institute is co-operating with the different national Kodály societies as well.

British Kodály Academy (Great Britain) - through the Academy the Institute regularly welcomes students in Kecskemét, and the teachers of the Institute are often asked to teach at the courses organized by the Academy.

Monash University (Frankston, Australia) - from year to year, the University sends a group of Australian students to the special short courses organized by the Institute.

Based on written agreements in the past, the Institute also accepted students from the following universities:

Universidade de Aveiro (Aveiro, Portugal) - through the Socrates Program
