Introductory Course

The aim of this course is to make the student be acquainted with the principles of the Kodály philosophy and offer comprehensive study of its theoretical and practical aspects, as well as to develop the student's musical skills.

COMPULSORY SUBJECTS

Introductory Lectures about Kodály's Pedagogical Philosophy (1st semester)	1	continuous participation + written examination
Lectures about Kodály's Life Work (2nd semester)	1	continuous participation + written examination
Musicianship	5	practical work + written and oral examination
General Music Literature	1,5	practical work + written and oral examination
Choral Singing	2	practical work
Voice Training	1/2	practical work
Observation at schools with consultation	2	continuous participation
Piano	1/2	practical work

OPTIONAL CLASSES

Each student must select 2 optional subjects

Folk Music	1,5	practical work + written and oral examination
Tutoring in Musicianship	1	practical work
Chamber Music (on the basis of an audition)	1/2	practical work
Hungarian Music Literature	1,5	practical work + written and oral examination

Additional classes at an extra cost: piano, voice training, instrumental lesson.
